Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Tahir Iqbal has won PP-139 by-election. The seat has fallen vacant following the death of Rana Afzal Hussain, brother of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, in Sheikhupura.
Tahir Iqbal secured 44,535 votes while PTI217;s Ejaz Bhatti secured 20,093 votes. Former PML-N candidate Mian Rauf got 6,695 votes while TLP leader Farooq-ul-Hasan bagged 7,196 votes.
Around 7,150 Punjab police personnel were deployed for 124 polling stations. The total number of voters in the constituency were 193,285.
